At Hutch, the Data Science Lab (DaSL) Training Team is dedicated to promoting data literacy and empowering individuals within and beyond the organization to use data responsibly in health sciences. Their mission involves providing training and fostering a community around data science.
The DaSL Training Team offers two main types of training: general learning and Fred Hutch-specific learning. General learning resources are available online and in-person for the general public, covering a broad range of data-related topics. From introductory programming in R to specialized fields like genomics and environmental health, learners can acquire foundational skills and explore cutting-edge applications of data science. The majority of these materials are accessible for free.
Fred Hutch Learning, on the other hand, is specifically designed for researchers and data scientists at Fred Hutch. This suite of materials includes online and in-person training sessions that focus on Fred Hutch’s data-related practices. It provides information on utilizing tools available at the organization, such as the computing cluster.
