At the annual Police Athletic League science fair, young minds from all five boroughs gathered to showcase their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and math. The event took place at the PAL center in Longwood where students presented their projects centered around natural disasters.

The fifth through eighth-grade students displayed their creations, which were designed to withstand various disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and more for at least 20 seconds. Among the projects were structures resembling bridges, highways and armories that showcased the creativity and innovation of the young engineers in training.

The competition was fierce as students competed for the top prize of $500 to fund a STEM project at their center. The science fair not only provided a platform for students to demonstrate their skills but also encouraged them to explore the fields of science and engineering. It was a day filled with excitement, learning and celebration of young talent in the realm of STEM.
