The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (HSC) has been allocated new funding beginning July 1, 2024. This funding was signed into law by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and represents an almost eight percent increase from the previous year. The HSC is set to receive over $155 million in the next fiscal year, which will be used to upgrade aging equipment, modernize existing buildings, and expand educational programs.

This funding will benefit various departments within the HSC, including the College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, and College of Population Health. It will also support initiatives related to community engagement, the Comprehensive Cancer Center, diversity, ECHO, education, health, research, and the School of Medicine.

The HSC’s growth and success are a result of this funding boost. By investing in infrastructure, educational programs, and research initiatives, the HSC can continue to provide high-quality healthcare services and education to its students and the community. This commitment to continued growth ensures that the institution remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation and education.
