At the renowned Sciences Po university in Paris, students gathered on Friday to protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza. The demonstration, which was led by masters students Hicham and Zoe, echoed similar events that took place on US campuses.

Hicham, a 22-year-old student studying human rights and humanitarian studies, emphasized the importance of universities taking a stand against the violence in Gaza. He urged Sciences Po to condemn Israel’s actions and hoped that other institutions would follow suit. Meanwhile, Zoe, a 20-year-old student studying public administration, stated that they would continue to protest until the violence stopped.

The interim director of Sciences Po, Jean Basseres, condemned the blockade of the building and expressed concern over police intervention. He is currently in discussions with student representatives to find a resolution to the situation. However, tensions have escalated on US campuses as well, prompting concerns about the use of force to suppress demonstrations.
