Pope Francis announced that he will be publishing a document in September dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during a weekly General Audience. This devotion is intended to illuminate the path of ecclesial renewal and bring a significant message to a world that appears to have lost its heart.

In preparation for this document, Pope Francis will gather precious reflections from previous magisterial texts and a long history dating back to the Holy Scriptures to reintroduce this devotion full of spiritual beauty to the Church. He believes that meditating on various aspects of the Lord’s love can guide ecclesial renewal and deliver a meaningful message to a world in need. The Pope invited believers to accompany him in prayer during this preparation period with the intention of releasing the document in September.

During the General Audience, Pope Francis also made an appeal for peace in the world, urging the faithful to join him in prayer. He requested the intercession of the Virgin Mary for peace and offered prayers for troubled regions such as Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, and Myanmar. The Pope prayed that the Lord would grant the world the gift of peace and reduce suffering caused by wars.
