The 2024 H20 Summit will be held on June 19-20 at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. This two-day event aims to explore “The Future of Global Health Diplomacy in a Changing World”. With more than 150 distinguished guests and seven panels, the summit will focus on topics such as sustainable financing for global health, bridging the gap between investment and health communities, and introducing new global health initiatives.
One of the highlights of this year’s summit is the launch of the Global Legislators’ report on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), authored by prominent parliamentarians and experts. The report emphasizes that a more systematic and common approach is needed in tackling AMR at both global and national levels, highlighting the key role that parliamentarians play in ensuring that health remains a political priority.
The H20 Summit is an independent annual platform that supports the agendas of the G20 and G7 Presidencies. Launched in Geneva in 2018 by The G20 Health and Development Partnership’s Global Ambassadors and Member Organizations, it fosters collaboration between traditional global health community members and other sectors such as politics and finance. Through discussions at these summits, partnerships are sought to mobilize political action to ensure healthier and sustainable societies and economies, in line with the United Nations’ 2030 targets and beyond.
