As the weekend approaches in France, tensions are running high due to several demonstrations planned against the extreme right. Jordan Bardella, president of the National Group and candidate for prime minister in the upcoming legislative elections, has appealed to all political parties to call for calm.

Bardella urged all parties, including those on the left, to come together and put aside their differences in the face of the political earthquake caused by Marine Le Pen’s victory in Sunday’s European elections. He reproached the media for questioning democracy by rejecting the results of the polls.

The left-wing parties have managed to reach an agreement to participate in the upcoming legislative elections together, while Los Republicanos is facing an internal crisis after its leader opened the door to making an agreement with Le Pen. The polls show that while The National Group is currently leading, it is true that with the creation of New Popular Front, left-wing parties have risen in popularity and could potentially end up just three percentage points behind Le Pen.
