The Science Center for Marine Fisheries (SCEMFIS) has welcomed Community Offshore Wind as the newest member of its Industry Advisory Board (IAB). The project, which is a joint venture between RWE and National Grid Ventures, holds the largest offshore wind lease area in the New York Bight.

As a fisheries manager for Community Offshore Wind, Deirdre Boelke expressed their commitment to coexisting successfully with commercial and recreational fisheries. They believe that science and industry must collaborate to find innovative solutions for building resilient fisheries in the face of climate change and other challenges.

The offshore wind industry in the US presents an opportunity for the fishing industry, researchers, and developers to work together towards sustainable development of offshore wind projects.
