On June 6, the US State Department announced sanctions against a Palestinian terrorist group operating from Nablus. The group is responsible for a series of attacks, including attacks on Israeli vehicles near Nablus and Elon Moreh. These attacks resulted in the injury of an Israeli and damage to several vehicles. The statement from the State Department also highlighted the group’s involvement in multiple shelling incidents targeting the Israeli settlement of Ar-Braha.

In addition to its role in these attacks, the group has been linked to the killing of several Palestinian civilians during clashes between militants and Palestinian Authority security forces in September 2022. In April 2024, the group reportedly attacked Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near Nablus. The United States condemned all acts of violence in the West Bank and emphasized its commitment to holding accountable those who threaten peace and stability.

The State Department’s announcement is part of a larger effort to combat terrorism and promote peace in the region. By imposing sanctions on the Palestinian terrorist group, the US government aims to address the threat posed by the group’s activities and prevent further violence in the area. This action underscores the US government’s commitment to supporting peace and security in the Middle East.
