Unions, left-wing parties, and the RN have expressed opposition to the new unemployment insurance reform announced by the French government. The CFDT, France’s largest union, has vowed to do everything in its power to prevent the implementation of the reform. The head of the CFDT, Marylise Léon, stated that they will explore the possibility of making a legal appeal to the Council of State in order to stop the reform from taking effect. This determination to fight against the reform is shared by the FO union, which has also promised to challenge the decree before the Council of State.

The Prime Minister recently announced plans to tighten the rules around unemployment insurance compensation, with a decree set to be issued on July 1 to put the reform into effect on December 1. This move has caused an uproar among unions and left-wing parties, with many calling for a transparent and thorough debate on the issue.
