In 2021, I took a 30-hour journey on an Amtrak train from Miami to New York City. The ride was bumpy and characterized by too much time spent in a confined space. However, for those who enjoy the journey as much as the destination, the experience might be worthwhile.
As someone who prefers not to fly, I opted for an alternative mode of transportation for my trip from NYC to Miami. I booked a private room with two beds and a toilet on an Amtrak sleeper train for $500, despite the cost being higher than a typical economy flight and the journey taking significantly longer.
Having traveled on several overnight trains before, this experience stands out as memorable. The constant motion and duration of the trip had a greater impact on me than I initially anticipated. Despite the challenges, it was a unique experience that I will never forget.
