The University of North Florida (UNF) has launched a new doctorate program, the Doctor of Health Administration, aimed at training advanced healthcare leaders. This program is set to begin in the fall and is currently accepting applications.

The program focuses on global health leadership and advanced management of healthcare facilities and institutions, equipping students with the skills needed to tackle complex issues in the healthcare sector. UNF describes this as an “applied doctorate” that utilizes evidence from clinical, organizational, and policy areas to find solutions to challenging problems in the field of health care.

Mei Zhao, interim dean of UNF’s Brooks College of Health, expressed enthusiasm for the program, highlighting its innovative approach to addressing the evolving landscape of healthcare. The program aims to empower future leaders by providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive transformative change in healthcare delivery and enhance its quality.

Students enrolled in the program will have access to internationally recognized faculty and opportunities to network with local healthcare executives. The curriculum consists of 48 credit hours and follows a hybrid format, with 80% of coursework being conducted online and 20% taking place during on-campus executive seminars on weekends.
