European citizens’ concerns are being closely monitored ahead of the EU vote, as Euronews correspondents in Brussels gather insights from residents across the continent. Boyd Wagner, Chief Analyst at the Euronews Polls Centre, has shared his findings on the top issues that Europeans are worried about.

According to Wagner, the economy is one of the most pressing concerns for Europeans as they prepare to elect their next representatives. This reflects the ongoing struggles faced by many countries across Europe, including Ireland. An Irish man interviewed by Euronews expressed his frustration with interlinked economies and local problems such as the housing crisis and cost of living crisis in his country. He feels that these issues are not being taken seriously enough by politicians, especially those in the European Parliament.

Another key issue for some Europeans is climate change. A teacher from Germany highlighted its importance and emphasized how crucial it is for the EU to become climate neutral and take steps towards sustainability. She argued that being environmentally conscious should become socially acceptable if we want a better future for ourselves and future generations.

As citizens head to the polls, these key issues – the economy, migration, and climate change – remain at the forefront of their minds. The full report on European citizens’ concerns can be viewed in the player above.
