North Carolina Tar Heels football program welcomes a late addition to their 2024 roster with the announcement that JuCe running back Charleston French will be joining the team. French, a product of Itawamba Community College in Mississippi, made the announcement on social media after officially visiting North Carolina over the weekend. Convinced that the Tar Heels were the right program for him, French accepted an offer from head coach Mack Brown and his staff.

Standing at 5-foot-9 and weighing 205 pounds, French brings with him a successful season in which he rushed for 924 yards and eight touchdowns on 180 carries. With an average of 5.1 yards per carry, he has demonstrated his tough running ability and is expected to enhance UNC’s running game.

French joins a running back room that includes top back Omarion Hampton, as well as players like Caleb Hood, Darwin Barlow, Jordan Louie, and Davion Gause. The addition of French provides the Tar Heels with more depth at the running back position as they prepare for the upcoming season.
