In recognition of her dedication to supporting small businesses in Iowa, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) has announced her Small Business of the Week as Details Flowers in Sac County. This is just one of many small businesses that Ernst plans to highlight throughout this Congress, with the goal of recognizing a business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
Cheryl Gerry founded Details Flowers in 2000 with two full-time employees and a delivery driver to provide floral design, wedding services, and home decor in Sac County. Over the last 24 years, the business has expanded to include more part-time employees who share Cheryl’s passion for flowers. Details Flowers has received awards from the Sac City Chamber, including Business of the Year in 2010 and 2023, as well as Business of the Month in 2023.
In addition to their excellent floral arrangements and customer service, Cheryl and her team are active in the community, regularly visiting nursing and assisted living homes on holidays to give flowers to residents. The business has undergone renovations and moved to a larger location on Main Street to accommodate its growth.
Ernst commended Details Flowers for bringing joy and creating beautiful floral arrangements in Sac City. She looks forward to seeing the business continue to thrive in northwest Iowa and hopes it serves as an inspiration for other small businesses across the state.
