The Los Angeles Clippers have signed head coach Tyronn Lue to a new long-term contract that will reportedly make him one of the highest paid coaches in the league. Lue, who has been with the Clippers since October 2020, has led the team to the NBA playoffs in three out of his four seasons with them. Under Lue’s leadership, the Clippers have a win-loss record of 184-134 (.579) and are coming off a successful 51-win season in 2023-24 which saw them clinch the Pacific Division title.

Tyronn Lue is an experienced coach with eight seasons as an NBA head coach, boasting a record of 312–217 and six playoff appearances. Notably, he won an NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 alongside LeBron James. Prior to his coaching career, Lue spent 11 years as a player with various NBA teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards, and Orlando Magic, where he won two championships. He began his coaching journey as an assistant with the Boston Celtics in 2011.

With Lue’s contract renewal secured by the Clippers, they can now prioritize retaining key players like Paul George and James Harden, both of whom have the potential to become free agents this summer.
