X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has recently announced that the live broadcast feature will soon be exclusive to users who are subscribed to the Premium version of the platform. This means that those who use the social network for free will no longer have access to this functionality.
Currently, users can share real-time video content with others on X, similar to other platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and Discord. Users can stream anything from breaking news to big live events directly from their account. However, X has decided to limit this feature to Premium users only in the near future.
In a post from its ‘Live’ profile, X explained that only Premium users will have the ability to create live video broadcasts, including those from an encoder integrated with X. This means that a subscription to X Premium will be required for accessing this functionality.
X is making these changes to encourage more users to subscribe to its Premium version and gain access to additional features such as live broadcasting capabilities. The company believes that by limiting certain features only available through paid subscriptions, it can generate more revenue and better serve its most dedicated user base.
