Full-back Yan Valery has officially joined Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee, leaving Angers to join the English club. The 25-year-old defender from Tunisia previously played for Angers after transferring from Southampton in September 2022. It is worth noting that Valery had worked with Owls manager Danny Rohl during their time together at Southampton.

During his time at Angers, Valery made 65 appearances and played a key role in helping the team secure promotion back to Ligue 1 last season after being relegated in his first year at the club. He now joins Sheffield Wednesday as their third signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Ben Hamer and full-back Max Lowe.

The addition of Valery strengthens the team’s defensive options and adds experience to the squad ahead of the upcoming season in the Championship. His contract length with Sheffield Wednesday has not been disclosed yet, but it is certain that he will be a valuable asset to the team as they look to compete for promotion next year.
