In Tulsa, Grand Mental Health is working tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in communities across Green Country. With the help of data, leaders are able to identify areas within the metro that are in dire need of resources through their campaign “Leading Change Advancing Care.”

The agency has teamed up with the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to focus on east and north Tulsa, where they are collaborating closely with community partners and residents. Their ultimate goal is to eliminate the stigma attached to mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and more severe conditions that may require specialized treatment. This is especially crucial in light of the challenges brought on by the pandemic.

According to Ron Brady, there is a significant disparity between the number of people in need of mental health services and those who are actually receiving them. In Tulsa County alone, there is an 89 percent gap between those needing services and those accessing them. This highlights the growing demand for mental health services in the area, making the agency’s work even more vital.

From January to April, Grand Mental Health has experienced a staggering 138 percent increase in the number of clients they are serving in Tulsa. This underscores the critical role that mental health services play in supporting individuals and communities during challenging times.
