The 2024 Taiwan Technology X Culture Expo (TTXC) is set to take place in October at the Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung. With a focus on “gaming and entertainment,” “virtual idols,” and “technological art,” the expo invites visitors to experience the fusion of culture and technology through various performances, films, music, and industry showcases.

The theme of the expo, “Future at Play,” will incorporate the Kaohsiung Film Festival and the Takao Rock music festival, as well as XR Dreamland, which includes international short film and XR film competitions. Culture Minister Li Yuan noted that technology is advancing, and cultural workers in Taiwan are integrating artificial intelligence and XR technologies to pioneer new artistic expressions.

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai noted that hosting the expo signifies a significant cultural event and investments from high-tech industries. XR Dreamland, the largest XR film festival in Asia, will be a highlight of the event. XR technologies like AR, VR, and MR aim to blend physical and virtual interactions seamlessly.

The Ministry of Culture and Kaohsiung City Government are organizing the expo, which will run from Oct. 12-27. Various central government ministries, local governments, and private enterprises will showcase Taiwan’s strengths in culture and technology. The Takao Rock music festival, featuring over 60 singers and bands from Taiwan and around the world, will close the expo from Oct. 11-13. Early bird tickets for the complete music festival will be available for purchase on Opentix starting at noon on July 8.
