The Kandiyohi County Board will be meeting on Tuesday, July 2nd at 9 a.m. in the board chambers at the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services building. The agenda includes updates and presentations on various issues. One of the main topics of discussion will be the possible transfer of a 16-bed adult behavioral health facility to state ownership. This facility was built by the county in 2008 on Olena Avenue Southeast in Wilmar and has been leased to the state since then. The final lease payment was made in 2018, and the transfer would streamline operations for both parties.

Another item on the agenda is the 10-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, which staff is recommending that the board adopt. Updates will also be provided from Safe Avenues, the region’s provider of shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic or sexual violence, as well as from Primacy Strategy Group, seeking federal funding opportunities for county projects.

The board will also consider a memorandum of agreement with nonprofit Children’s Dental Services to provide dental care for children from low-income families. Additionally, they will discuss a resolution to vacate a portion of Brower Avenue right of way along the north shore of Green Lake, as well as bid awards for grading and surfacing of County Road 104 near Diamond Lake Park and for line painting on Kandiyohi County highways.
