A tragic accident occurred on Saturday when a small World War II-era plane crashed shortly after departing from Chino Airport in Southern California. The twin-engine Lockheed 12A went down around 12:35 p.m., killing two individuals on board and leaving no other survivors or injuries on the ground.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported that emergency crews arrived at the crash site and found the wreckage of the aircraft. The identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed, and the cause of the crash remains unknown, prompting investigations by both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.

An NTSB investigator is scheduled to arrive on Sunday to document the crash site and examine the aircraft before it is recovered and transported to a secure facility for further assessment.
