The Slippery Rock University community is currently in mourning after the sudden passing of a student-athlete. Jake Baker, a defensive end who played for the football team, died on Thursday. The university, athletic department and The Rock football team released a joint statement expressing their sadness over the loss and conveying heartfelt condolences to Baker’s family and friends. Head coach Shawn Lutz expressed his grief over the loss of one of his players.
