On Saturday, two unfortunate individuals lost their lives when a historical World War II Lockheed L12 aircraft crashed shortly after taking off from Chino Airport in Southern California. The plane came down about 200 yards from the runway in a grass field, according to Bryan Turner, battalion chief with Chino Valley Fire District. Firefighters arrived at the scene around 12:35 p.m. to find the wreckage.

The identities of the deceased passengers have not been released at this time, and it is too early to determine the cause of the crash, although there was a fire following the impact. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation into the incident.

This is a developing story, so please stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
