The family of Sarah Becker, a star on MTV’s The Real World, has confirmed that she passed away at the age of 52. TMZ reported that Becker died by suicide in her home in Illinois. Despite recent struggles with mental health issues exacerbated by a skateboarding accident, Becker had just moved back to Illinois to take care of sick family members.

Former cast mates of The Real World have shared their thoughts after hearing the news. Dan Renzi posted an emotional tribute to his former roommate on Instagram. Although they hadn’t been in touch since the show ended, Renzi acknowledged the bond that forms between people who go through intense and sometimes traumatic experiences together.

Cynthia Roberts also paid tribute to Becker on her Instagram story. She expressed hope that Becker finds happiness on the other side and encouraged anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts to reach out for help. Flora Alekseyeun, who also lived with Becker during their time on The Real World, shared her shock and sadness at the news. Despite not having spoken in years, Alekseyeun remembered Becker as a selfless person who was always kind and helpful.
