Grayson Murray, a professional golfer from Raleigh, North Carolina, tragically took his own life at the age of 30. His parents, Eric and Terry Murray, released a statement through the PGA Tour confirming their son’s death and expressing their shock and disbelief at losing him. They thanked the golfing community for their support during this difficult time.

Murray had recently made a comeback in his career by winning the Sony Open earlier this year, breaking a long winless streak. Despite his success, he had been open about his struggles with mental health and physical issues. Just days before his death, he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, citing illness.

As a promising junior player, Murray won multiple titles as a young golfer. He made history by being one of the youngest to make the cut on the PGA’s developmental Korn Ferry Tour at 16 years old. By age 19, he had participated in the US Open in 2013 and went on to win the Barbasol Championship in 2017 at just 23 years old.
