On Friday afternoon, the Howell Police Department received a complaint about threats made at a local business located in the 100 block of W Grand River Ave. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had died from a gunshot wound inside the building. One person was taken into custody by the police.

The Howell Police Department has stated that there is no current threat to the public and that this incident is not related to the nearby Balloonfest event. They have asked people to stay away from the scene so that investigators can do their work effectively. Chief Michael Dunn has assured the public that all individuals involved in the incident are cooperating with the investigation.
