A young girl has tragically passed away as a result of a fiery crash on Business 80 in Sacramento County. The crash took place around 2:30 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near Watt Avenue, according to authorities. California Highway Patrol reported that a car veered off the road for unknown reasons and collided with a pole.

The car then burst into flames, engulfing it entirely at one point. Medics from Metro Fire of Sacramento rushed to the scene and transported the girl to the hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries later that day. It was disclosed that she was under 10 years old. There is no information available on the condition of the driver, who is said to be a man in his 30s.

The incident caused significant delays on Business 80, also known as State Route 51, on Thursday as investigators worked tirelessly to gather information about what led to the crash and how it could be prevented in the future. The loss of a young life deeply impacted those involved and left heavy hearts throughout the community.
