On Friday, the PGA Championship confirmed that round two would be delayed due to a fatal accident near Valhalla Golf Club. An adult male pedestrian was struck by a shuttle bus while crossing Shelbyville Road and sustained fatal injuries. The Louisville Metro Police Department is currently investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, Scottie Scheffler was detained by police near Valhalla Golf Club before the second round was scheduled to begin. Unconfirmed reports suggest he was trying to avoid the scene when he was stopped by police. However, it is not clear if there is any connection between the accident and Scheffler’s detention.

Despite these setbacks, Scheffler had been in excellent form leading up to the tournament. He recently won The Masters and The Players Championship in 2024 and became a father last week with the arrival of his son Bennett.

The first group was originally scheduled to start at 12.15pm BST, but the delays due to the accident will push the start time back to at least 1.30pm BST. Inclement weather is also expected to impact play on Friday. If you want to book a round at one of 1,700 courses across the UK & Ireland, make sure to get the best prices available.
