On June 27th, 127 workers at Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company experienced symptoms of vomiting, stomachaches, and diarrhea after consuming a meal that included braised chicken, peanuts, braised mackerel, grilled pork with betel leaves, among other dishes. The Hai Phong Department of Health received a communication from the Department of Food Safety about the incident and initiated an investigation.

Following lunch on June 27th, many workers began to exhibit rashes and red faces, with symptoms escalating to vomiting, stomachaches, and diarrhea around 12:30. A total of 127 affected workers were transferred to various hospitals in Hai Phong, with 7 individuals experiencing severe symptoms such as rashes, cold sores, and palpitations.

Medical professionals at Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital diagnosed these individuals with anaphylactic shock and provided appropriate treatment. All patients are currently in stable condition and under observation. The workers reported that the meal included braised mackerel, which was consumed by most affected individuals
