As USC football continues to make progress in recruiting, they recently offered a scholarship to four-star 2026 Burien (Washington) defensive lineman Derek Colman-Brusa. Colman-Brusa, who stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 230 pounds, is considered the top player in the state of Washington and ranked as the No. 156 overall prospect and the No. 14 edge rusher in the 247Sports composite rankings.

In addition to USC, Colman-Brusa holds offers from schools like California, Duke, Oregon, BYU, Utah, Washington, and Tennessee. Notably, his older brother Lowen Colman-Brusa is a three-star recruit as an offensive lineman in the 2025 class. The two brothers have expressed interest in potentially playing for Washington together and mentioned it as an ideal school for them.

However, Washington is going through a transitional period as they lost many players from their 2023 roster and are starting a new season under first-year head coach Jedd Fisch. USC is looking to establish a strong presence in the Big Ten Conference and compete with schools like Washington for top recruits. While USC may not land Derek Colman-Brusa, it is important for them to win more recruiting battles in order to stay competitive.
