The 2024 Atlanta Open has announced its lineup, featuring a host of top tennis stars. Among the standout players are American Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, who have both won championships at the event in the past. The tournament will take place from July 20-28 at Atlantic Station, with Shelton, a native of Atlanta and currently ranked No. 14 in the world, headlining the event.

This year marks the end of an impressive 15-year run for the tournament. Executive Vice President of Tennis Operations for GF Sports & Entertainment, Peter Lebedevs, expressed his excitement about hosting another great field of players and is looking forward to a week of thrilling tennis action in Atlanta.

The competition kicks off with an exhibition match between women’s tennis legends Venus Williams and Sloane Stephens on July 21. Along with Williams and Stephens, other top players from around the world such as James Duckworth, Adrian Mannarino, and David Goffin will also be competing for the title. The full lineup promises to be a thrilling showdown for both players and fans alike.

Ben Shelton comes from a strong tennis background, as his father Bryan Shelton was once a Georgia Tech player and coach who achieved All-American status during his time at Georgia Tech before coaching at various institutions including leading Georgia Tech’s women to a national championship in 2007. After moving to Florida to become head coach at UF men’s team, the Shelton family relocated from Atlanta to Gainesville where Ben honed his skills under his dad’s tutelage before turning pro in 2019.

Overall, this year’s Atlanta Open promises to be a memorable event as top players compete for glory in what will be fitting conclusion to this successful tournament’s history
