In 2024, the Tennessee Titans signed wide receiver Calvin Ridley to a four-year, $92 million contract after a bidding war between Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots. The move shocked many as Ridley was widely expected to remain with the Jaguars.

With salary cap space available, Tennessee took advantage of the opportunity to strengthen their wide receiver corps by signing Ridley. Titans head coach Brian Callahan praised Ridley’s talent and professionalism, noting that stealing him from a division rival made the move even sweeter. In 2023, Ridley had a successful season with the Jaguars, leading the team in receiving yards and touchdowns.

Following Ridley’s departure, Jacksonville made moves to upgrade their receiving corps. They signed Gabe Davis and Devin Duvernay in free agency and drafted Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round of the NFL draft. These additions, along with established players like Christian Kirk and Evan Engram, will support quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the upcoming season. It remains to be seen how these changes will impact the Jaguars’ offense moving forward.
