Hackers have targeted Ticketmaster, the American arm of Live Nation, resulting in a data breach that compromised the personal information of 560 million customers. The Australian government is investigating a cybersecurity issue related to the breach after hackers known as the ‘ShinyHunters’ claimed to have accessed the data.

The ‘ShinyHunters’ shared evidence of the hack on the dark web and demanded a ransom of $500,000 from cybercriminals. Live Nation confirmed that they were made aware of the breach on May 20th and enlisted specialist companies to investigate the extent of the breach. The compromised information included names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, and the last four digits of customers’ credit card numbers.

Despite this breach, Live Nation has assured customers that it has not had a significant impact on their operations or financial results. They are actively working to mitigate any risks associated with the breach and continue to monitor the situation closely. The Australian government is also investigating the incident and taking steps to prevent future cyber attacks.
