This weekend, NASCAR is returning to Iowa Speedway with the Xfinity and Cup series in action. The Xfinity teams will be making their first appearance at the .875-mile short track since the 2019 season, while the Cup teams will be competing at Iowa for the first time ever. All of the Xfinity and Cup action will be airing on USA Network. Additionally, the ARCO Menards Series will also be on track this weekend for the series’ 18th race at Iowa.
Justin Allgaier is the only full-time Xfinity driver with a win at Iowa Speedway. Cup drivers like Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell, Chris Buescher, Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, Chase Briscoe, Ryan Preece, and William Byron have all won Xfinity races at Iowa in the past.
The weekend schedule at Iowa Speedway includes practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and races for both the Xfinity and Cup series. The weather forecast for the weekend shows that Friday will be partly cloudy with a high of 85 degrees and no chance of rain. Saturday is expected to be cloudy with a high of 77 degrees and a 47% chance of rain during Cup qualifying. Sunday will be partly cloudy with a high of 91 degrees and a 13% chance of rain at the start of the Cup race.
On Friday, June 14th, there will be garage opening for ARCO Menards Series followed by Xfinity and Cup Series track activity. The day concludes with ARCO practice qualifying session followed by Xfinity practice session then cup practice session which ends with ARCO race at 8 pm.
On Saturday June 15th garage opens for Xfinity and cup series teams followed by xfinity qualifying session then cup qualifying session in morning then xfinity race in afternoon which ends with cup race in evening.
Finally on Sunday June 16th garage opens for cup series followed by cup race scheduled to take place at 7 pm consisting of 350 laps covering a total distance of 306
