Sunday’s Cup race at New Hampshire saw a number of winners and losers. Christopher Bell emerged victorious, adding to his Xfinity race win, which made it easier for car owner Joe Gibbs to forgive him for revealing ahead of schedule who would be taking over the No. 19 ride next year. Meanwhile, Hendrick Motorsports continued their dominant streak at New Hampshire by having a car finish first or second for the 13th consecutive race.

Joe Gibbs Racing also had a good day, with Chase Briscoe finishing in second place after crediting the rain with saving their race. With eight races left in the regular season, Briscoe sits just 25 points below the playoff cutline. Josh Berry also had a strong showing, tying his season-best finish by coming in third.

On the other hand, Bubba Wallace found himself in the losing column after getting caught up in a crash triggered by Noah Gragson. He finished 34th and fell out of a playoff spot, now sitting 13 points below the cutline. Justin Haley was also impacted by the resumption of the race after being fifth when it was halted by rain; his car was damaged by contact with Michael McDowell and he finished 29th. Kyle Busch had a tough day as well, being lapped early and involved in three accidents before finishing 35th – this marks three out of the last four races where Busch has finished 35th or worse.

Overall, Sunday’s Cup race at New Hampshire saw both winners and losers among drivers and teams alike.
