As a third-generation landscaper, 11-year-old Dylan McIntosh has inherited the family business under the name McIntosh Mowing. He decided to use his grandpa, dad and uncle’s legacy to carry on the tradition. Dylan started his entrepreneurial journey at just six years old when he ran a drink stand on Nicholasville Road during football season in 2019.

He enjoyed the flexibility that came with running his own business and saw an opportunity to grow it further. Last year, he started mowing by himself but had to hire a second employee, his eight-year-old brother Austin. With Austin on board, Dylan turned McIntosh Mowing into a full family affair. While Dylan and Austin operate the real equipment, their younger siblings, four-year-old Chloe and two-year-old Chase, follow them around with mowing toys in hand to offer their support.

Dylan’s father, Scott, mentioned that Chase eagerly looks forward to any day that involves lawn mowing. Currently mowing three yards, Dylan has neighbors lined up to join his clientele once he gets a little older. In addition to mowing, Dylan plans to bring back his drink stand for football games this fall, continuing to grow his entrepreneurial ventures.
