The Warriors are on the hunt for new talent after missing out on Paul George. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Golden State has looked into a potential trade with the Utah Jazz for forward Lauri Markkanen. Windhorst mentioned on his podcast that the Warriors are still trying other options, and Markkanen is available on the trade market.

Markkanen had an impressive 2023-24 season with the Jazz, averaging 23.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. His ability to shoot nearly 40 percent from 3-point range makes him an attractive option for teams looking to add a scoring threat. Many believe Markkanen could complement Warriors guard Steph Curry well and provide the team with much-needed size at 7 feet tall.

Aside from Markkanen, the Warriors are also considering trades for Zach LaVine from the Chicago Bulls and Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans. It remains unclear who the Warriors will ultimately acquire in a trade, but Markkanen seems like a good fit for the team.
