Micah Hyde, a longtime Buffalo Bills safety, is in town for his annual charity softball game and has opened up about his uncertain football future. Despite being a free agent, Hyde has been with the Bills since 2017 and has had a successful career. However, a neck injury in 2022 kept him off the field for most of the season and out of a few games last year.

As he is not currently under contract, Hyde has made it clear that he will either play for the Bills in the upcoming season or retire. He has been open and transparent with general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott about his decision-making process. While he is only 33 years old, Hyde prioritizes his health and his family, stressing the importance of a work-life balance. Still, he expresses a desire to win a Super Bowl before potentially retiring from professional football.

Hyde’s charity softball game, benefiting his Imagine for Youth Foundation, is set to take place at Sahlen Field in downtown Buffalo on Sunday at 2 p.m. The event has traditionally drawn participation from several Bills players, including star quarterback Josh Allen. Last year’s game managed to raise an impressive $400,000, underscoring the significant impact of Hyde’s foundation and its charitable work.
