Jeff Bezos, the founder and CEO of Amazon, is currently ranked as the world’s second-richest man with an estimated net worth of $200 billion. However, this title has been challenged by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who currently holds the top spot with a net worth of $209 billion. The battle for the title of the world’s richest person continues, and Bezos may soon reclaim it.

Recently, Bezos sold over $2 billion worth of Amazon stock, including 12 million shares. He also proposed to sell 50 million more shares around February 7th, worth an estimated $8.4 billion. These stock sales could boost his net worth and allow him to regain the title of the wealthiest person in the world from Musk.

As of now, Bezos is ranked No. 2 on Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index with a net worth of $200 billion, which is just $9 billion behind Musk’s current net worth of $209 billion. However, Forbes calculates net worth differently than Bloomberg and ranks Musk at No. 1 with a net worth of $201.6 billion while Bezos is ranked No. 3 at $195.9 billion on their real-time billionaire tracker. This ranking puts Musk ahead of Bezos by over $8 billion but still close enough that a change in fortune could see either man claim the title once again.
