The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Jauan Jennings to a contract extension through the 2025 season. The deal is reported to be worth $10.5 million guaranteed over the next two seasons, with a maximum value of $15.4 million. Jennings was a seventh-round draft pick out of Tennessee in 2020 and has been active for the 49ers since returning to the roster in 2021 after initially being waived and signed to the practice squad.

Jennings played a significant role in the Super Bowl for the 49ers, scoring a touchdown and throwing another to help his team to a lead before ultimately falling to the Kansas City Chiefs. He had four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown in addition to his 21-yard touchdown pass in the game. In his three seasons with the team, Jennings has accumulated 78 catches for 963 yards and seven touchdowns, with 19 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown in 13 games last season.

The 49ers are currently focused on negotiating a new deal with Aiyuk, who is seeking a contract that surpasses Amon-Ra St. Brown’s extension with the Detroit Lions. Aiyuk is reportedly looking for long-term contract security despite being due $14.1 million on his fifth-year option. With Jennings now under contract through at least the next two seasons, he will likely continue to be an important part of the team’s offense as he solidifies his role as the No. 3 wide receiver option behind Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.
