Croatian Crafts Chamber (HOK) has emphasized the importance of quality curricula for craft occupations in shaping the future of domestic crafts. They stressed on a learning-based approach that focuses on work during the e-consultation process. The HOK provided 41 comments on the curricula for vocational occupations, supporting the introduction of new curricula and modernization of vocational education, with an emphasis on work-based learning.

The HOK demanded that all curricula include clear information on work-based training with licensed employers. They stressed that at least half of the qualification points should be obtained through work-based training in a real work environment. The inclusion of a scientific exam as part of the final thesis defense was also requested, highlighting the importance of apprenticeship regulations and the need for clear education methods.

Specific comments were made for the professions of beautician and hairdresser, suggesting that these programs should be three-year apprenticeships to allow for more work-based training hours. Dalibor Kratohvil, president of HOK, emphasized the importance of work-based learning in preserving Croatian craftsmanship and passing on the craft heritage to future generations.

The HOK highlighted that there is increasing interest in craft occupations and enrollment in vocational programs following their recommended education model. They noted a growth in student enrollment in JMO programs and emphasized the collaborative effort of various stakeholders in promoting vocational education. The HOK is optimistic about the future of Croatian craftsmanship and the role of work-based learning in developing skilled craftsmen.
