On Monday evening, the Warner Theater was filled with excitement as the 2024 Northwestern Pennsylvania High School Sports Awards took place on June 24. The event recognized students who excelled in varsity and junior varsity sports during the latest season.

The ceremony was attended by hundreds of athletes, fans, families, and friends. In addition to individual awards for girls’ and boys’ sports, 11 premiere awards were also presented.

As a guest speaker for the evening, professional football star and McDowell alumni James Connor inspired the audience with his words of encouragement. The event was part of the USA Today High School Sports Awards Program.

But it wasn’t just about celebrating achievements; it was also an opportunity to give back to the community. Over 1.5M pounds of food were packed this year by Second Harvest volunteers, showcasing the dedication of student-athletes on and off the field.
