A coalition of left-wing parties in France is calling for the reintroduction of a wealth tax with a climate component, which could generate 15 billion euros per year if they are elected. According to Alexandre Ouizille, a Socialist Senator for Oise, this measure could generate between twelve to thirteen billion in the first few years and then increase to 15 billion.

The Popular Front also wants to introduce a tax on super profits from 2024, which could raise an additional 15 billion euros annually. The proposed 30 billion euros raised from these taxes would be used to finance various social initiatives, including a 10 percent increase in personal housing allowances, the repeal of pension and unemployment insurance reforms, and an increase in the index for civil servants.

If elected, the Popular Front aims to use the revenue generated by these taxes to fund social programs that will benefit millions of people across France. These measures demonstrate their commitment to creating a more equitable society where everyone has access to basic necessities such as affordable housing and healthcare.
