Preparations are underway for the next TJS event, scheduled for May 2025. The Jewelry Symposium (TJS), formerly known as the Santa Fe Symposium, recently concluded its second jewelry tech gathering. This international event is committed to advancing jewelry manufacturing technology and attracted over 100 attendees, including jewelry makers, students, and specialists, who came together to discuss critical topics and challenges related to jewelry making in the 21st century.

The TJS 2024 event featured seventeen distinguished speakers from leading manufacturers and trade associations such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), Platinum Guild International (PGI), and a former expert from the World Gold Council (WGC). Presentations covered both traditional jewelry crafting techniques, like pressed metal molds and guilloche ornamentation, as well as cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence and additive manufacturing (3D printing).

One of the hottest topics discussed at the symposium was AI and how it will impact the future of jewelry making. Linus Drogs, chairman of TJS’s board, expressed his delight with the response to TJS 2024: “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic reception we have received to this year’s event. The discussions around AI were particularly engaging.” He further stated that while there will be similar challenges and inspirations with AI technology as there were with computer-aided design in previous years, it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of jewelry manufacturing.

Networking opportunities were also an essential aspect of TJS 2024. Attendees had ample opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions and exchange ideas, inspirations, and best practices. The symposium provided a platform for professionals from all backgrounds to connect with each other on a deeper level, fostering collaboration that can drive growth within the industry.

As we look forward to TJS 2025, we anticipate that it will continue to deliver thought-provoking discussions on industry trends and technological advancements while providing valuable networking opportunities for attendees. With its commitment to innovation and collaboration within the industry, TJS remains an essential platform for moving forward in today’s fast-paced world of jewelry making.
