Earlier this month, the world’s last Blockbuster store in Bend, Oregon had its long-time lawn sign stolen. This led to disappointment among many, including General Manager Sandi Harding who revealed that the sign had been taken from the front lawn of the store.

Instead of filing a police report, Harding turned to social media in hopes of retrieving the sign that had been in place for two decades. Her efforts paid off when Bend Police were able to recover the stolen sign and return it to the store.

The original sign has now been displayed inside for safekeeping, while an identical replacement sign from Carlson Sign Co. of Bend remains on the front lawn. Harding expressed her joy at the sign being returned, attributing it to the efforts of the community and supporters across the country who had shared the store’s posts. She emphasized the collective effort that led to the sign’s return and expressed gratitude for the support received.
