In the offseason, the Carolina Panthers have invested heavily in rebuilding their team and have become one of the league’s highest spenders. Many are wondering which addition will prove to be the best for the team. Bleacher Report analyst Ryan Fowler believes that rookie wideout Xavier Legette could be the Panthers’ most dangerous addition, especially considering the resources they have dedicated to retooling their offense.

After their 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young had a rough rookie season, the Panthers made it a priority to surround him with more playmakers. They acquired veteran receiver Diontae Johnson in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers and also traded up to select Legette at No. 32 overall in the draft. Legette stands at 6’3″ and 227 pounds, showcasing the potential to be a starting NFL receiver. He had an impressive college career at South Carolina, recording over 1,200 receiving yards last season.

Legette’s versatility is expected to make an immediate impact for the Panthers. He is a threat in the passing game, as evidenced by his standout season at South Carolina where he caught 71 passes for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. Additionally, Legette has proven to be a dangerous weapon on special teams, with 29 kick returns for 767 yards and a touchdown during his college career.

The Panthers’ investment in Legette shows their commitment to building a dynamic and competitive team. With his skills and potential, Legette could be a game-changer for the Panthers in the upcoming season.
