The Los Angeles Dodgers recently placed two right-handed pitchers on the injured list. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who signed with the Dodgers after a successful career in Japan, was forced to leave his start against the Kansas City Royals due to a strained rotation cuff. Meanwhile, fellow righty Michael Grove was also placed on the IL with a strained lat.

In order to replace these pitchers, the Dodgers brought up right-handers JP Feyereisen and Michael Petersen. Despite their recent injuries, the Dodgers’ rotation has been performing well, ranking seventh in the majors in ERA. This is particularly impressive considering key pitchers like Clayton Kershaw and Tony Gonsolin have also been sidelined at various points throughout the season.

The Dodgers currently hold a record of 43-29 and are leading the National League West by seven games over the San Diego Padres. This lead is second only to that of the New York Mets, who are currently leading the NL East by 10 games. With several starting pitchers sidelined, it’s clear that the Dodgers have shown remarkable resilience and strength as they continue to dominate their division.
