The Sacramento Kings have made a competitive contract offer to head coach Mike Brown, offering him a three-year, $21 million deal that could reach $27 million with bonuses, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Despite exchanging numbers, there is still no agreement between Brown and the team.
Brown, who has one year left on his current contract, is reportedly seeking a salary of at least $10 million per season. This news comes after talks between Brown and the Kings were put on hold due to differing negotiation terms.
Coach Ty Lue of the Los Angeles Clippers recently agreed to a five-year, $70 million extension. As the offseason approaches for the Kings, their first priority is determining the future of Brown, who has led the team to a 94-70 record over two seasons and ended a 16-year playoff drought for the franchise. However, it seems that the Kings and Brown are still far apart in their contract negotiations, with no resolution in sight at this time.
