Sports trades often focus on the players involved and how they will adapt to their new teams, cities, and even countries. However, it’s important to remember that these trades can also have a significant impact on the lives of the players’ loved ones. Families can be uprooted by offseason or midseason moves, causing disruptions in school, careers, and bedtime routines.

One recent example of this is the trade of former Pelicans player Larry Nance Jr. to the Atlanta Hawks as part of a deal for Dejounte Murray. This move meant that Nance and his teammate Dyson Daniels would be moving to Atlanta before the start of the upcoming season. Nance’s wife, Hailey, took to social media to share the challenges of adjusting to the news and the changes it would bring to their lives.

Although Nance was still in the process of finalizing the move, he had to juggle phone calls and conversations while also trying to help with bedtime routines for their children. Once the season starts, it will be Nance’s fifth team in 10 seasons, bringing his skills and experience to a Hawks team that is still strategizing after the recent NBA Draft. In his last season with the Pelicans, Nance averaged 5.7 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, showcasing his value on the court.
